Our Lady Of Fatima Statue

At Fatima, our Lady, the Mother of God, appeared to three young, inocent people. As a Mother, she guided her children, Jacinta, Francisco and Lucia, close to the Father, and through them many others. These children had an open heart, and remained stedfast to Mary's words, despite opposition from people who had their hearts shut. Let us draw strength from their example, and open our hearts, and through prayer join Jacinta, Francisco and Lucia in the journey of moving closer to our Heavenly Father.

About Fatima....

  1. Initial Apparitions: The first apparition occurred on May 13, 1917. The children reported seeing a lady dressed in white who asked them to return on the 13th of each month.

  2. Messages and Prophecies: During the apparitions, Mary conveyed messages about prayer, repentance, and the need for peace. She also revealed prophecies, including the vision of hell and warnings about the consequences of sin.

  3. Miracle of the Sun: On October 13, 1917, a crowd gathered for the final apparition, where a miraculous event known as the "Miracle of the Sun" was reported. Witnesses described the sun appearing to dance in the sky, a phenomenon attributed to divine intervention.

  4. Legacy and Impact: The apparitions led to a significant increase in devotion to Mary, particularly through the Rosary. Fatima has since become a major pilgrimage site, and the messages have been influential in Catholic teachings, particularly regarding the importance of prayer and conversion.

  5. Recognition by the Church: The Catholic Church officially recognized the events at Fatima, with many of the messages being acknowledged as prophetic. The children were beatified and canonized in the following decades.
